99 Stockings Project

The 99 Stockings Project creates a little holiday cheer for our neighbors at Tacoma’s Stability Site, the Beacon Young Adult Shelter, Guadalupe House, and other nearby shelters and campsites. We started this project in 2018 with 99 stockings and have added additional locations for delivering gift bags each year.

Our goal this year is 99 stockings plus 400 holiday gift bags!

We invite you to share in this fun, community centered project that adds some warmth during the cold of winter.

Invitation to Action!

Support the Revenue for Housing Petition!

Join St. Leo Social Justice Commission in urging the Pierce County Council to utilize a new Washington State law allowing the County Council to authorize a local option sales tax of one penny per ten dollars of sales.

This could generate as much as $20 million per year, an immediate way to begin to meet the housing and services needs of those most vulnerable among us. Please sign the petition and share with your networks!

Join others to voice your support through public comment at Pierce County Council meetings. To join the ongoing grass roots group advocating for this council action, contact Carolyn Read at readcarolyn@comcast.net.
